Moja Love cuts ties with Xolani Khumalo amid murder case

Xolani will be back in court later this month.

Moja Love has terminated its relationship with Xolani Khumalo – the presenter of the channel’s popular drug-busting show, Sizok’thola.

The channel did not share the reasons for the sudden dismissal but wished him well in his future endeavors.

Moja Love TV Channels has terminated its relationship with Mr Xolani Khumalo, presenter of one of the Channel’s leading shows, Sizok’thola. The channel will not be commenting on any matters relating to Mr Khumalo at this stage,” the statement reads.

This comes after the TV presenter made his second appearance at the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court a few days ago, on 19 October, for the murder of Robert Varrie.

Xolani’s case postponed to 21 November

According to EWN, the state confirmed investigations in Xolani’s case have been completed. However, the case was postponed to 21 November as the court awaits the director of public prosecutions’ decision on whether the case should be transferred to the high court for trial.

His first appearance was in September this year after he handed himself over to the police.

Speaking to The Citizen then, Nonzwakazi Cekete, Head of Communications at Moja Love TV Channels, said they were aware that Xolani handed himself to the police and were monitoring proceedings.

“The matter is subjudice and will await the outcome of the court,” she said.

In a media statement, the Xolani Khumalo Foundation highlighted that the TV star handed himself over to the police because he was requested to do so.

“The South African Police Service has requested that Xolani Khumalo hand himself over in connection with an incident that occurred at one of the last drug busts.

“Xolani Khumalo and the team operated according to the strictest standards of professionalism when engaged in securing accountability from those who sell drugs and choose to harm communities.”
