WATCH: Dumb safe thieves should ask how Charlize Theron in Italian Job did it

A video of armed robbers trying to steal a safe at a BP garage in the Western Cape has emerged, and it seems the robbers should consider a career in something else.

In the footage, the robbers approach the cashier and ask the employee to open for them.

However, a car pulls into the garage before they can get in. The thugs begin shooting, and the car immediately turns back.

The robbers then force the staff to go to the storeroom as they figure out a way to carry the safe, which they manage to do.

The safe is successfully heaved out of the store, and it now has to be transported to its destination, where there will be attempts to open it. Luckily for them, they have a car, so they try to put their loot in the boot.

It probably took more time for the thieves to get it in there than it did to take the safe outside. Though they manage to push half of it in, it just doesn’t fit.

One of the thieves even tries to close the boot for some reason. Unfortunately, the safe falls off as the driver moves the car.

Perhaps they really should try something else because this robbery thing is just not working out for them. They could also consider asking Charlize Theron how she and her mates did it in Italian Job.
