Pirates set to recall in-form Mabasa from Swallows?

Mabasa was sent on loan to Swallows at the beginning of the season.

Moroka Swallows striker Tshegofatso Mabasa, on-loan from Orlando Pirates, has been enjoying his stay with the Birds, and the Buccaneers technical team is impressed with his display, which might prompt them to recall him earlier.

Mabasa was sent on loan to Swallows at the beginning of the season, and the forward has been on fire for coach Steve Komphela’s charges, netting six goals in 10 games.

The 27-year-old forward was deemed surplus by the Buccaneers, with the club deciding to use the services of Evidence Makgopa, Kermit Erasmus, Eva Nga, Zakhele Lepasa and Souaibou Marou.

Mabasa is on his second loan spell, with Pirates having lent him to Sekhukhune United last season.

The striker’s spell at Sekhukhune was not as perfect as they thought it would be, as he managed to only find the back of the net twice in 18 appearances.

At Swallows, the striker seems to have found his rhythm and according to a source, that’s exactly what the coaches at Pirates have been looking for.

“He is very impressive and the technical team have been watching him. At the moment I’m not really certain, but there is a huge possibility that he might be brought back to the club in January. It would be a huge loss for Swallows, but he is a Pirates player,” added the source.
