Ndlovu Youth Choir forms second choir as fame grows

Ndlovu Youth Choir, with six international tours planned in 2023 forms a second choir to entertain everyone.


Citing an increase in demand, the Ndlovu Youth Choir has announced the formation of a second team to broaden its reach and better cater to its fans.
The 30-member choir, which has a promising 2023 ahead with six international tours already booked, aims to expand its presence and provide even more opportunities for its supporters to enjoy their performances.
The Ndlovu Youth Choir, formed in January 2009, was created to provide talented underprivileged teenagers and young adults aged 14 to 24 from the scenic Moutse Valley in rural Limpopo with an avenue to showcase their skills locally and internationally.

The Ndlovu Youth choir invited back to the US

The Ndlovu Youth Choir kicked off 2023 with a bang as they received a series of thrilling opportunities. The choir was invited back to audition for the ‘All Stars‘ leg of popular television series, America’s Got Talent, where singers wowed the audience with a hope-inspiring original composition.

The choir recently announced on their Instagram page they will be embarking on a tour in the United States, exciting their fans with the news.

Adding to their accolades, the choir was humbled by an invitation from Stevie Nicks, who expressed interest in auditioning for the proudly South African choir.

Within a month of their audition, the choir performed alongside Sir Elton John for his Aids Foundation.

Formation of second choir

At the beginning of the year, the Ndlovu Choir faced a demanding schedule, prompting them to expand their team and better cater to their fans.

Consequently, a second team was formed to broaden their reach and accommodate the growing demand for their performances both locally and abroad.

With six international tours already scheduled, one team will focus on global commitments while the other raises the roof in South Africa. Furthermore, the expansion means that everyone will have a chance to travel overseas as well.

The choir broke the news about the formation of the second team on Instagram,.

“We are excited to share with you all that we now have two fully interchangeable choirs, and all choristers are regularly rotated.

“This year we have six international tours, and we will regularly be rotating the international and local singers.

“This is a dream come true for us, and yet another testament to the potential and talent of young South Africans! Halala!,” said the Ndlovu Youth Choir in an Instagram post.

The formation of the second team offers additional opportunities for young people to flourish within their community. As they tour South Africa, they will bring the same delight and entertainment that the Ndlovu Youth Choir is renowned for.

Given the choir’s upcoming travels, they took to Instagram to communicate their tour schedule to their fans.
