Orange Fox Security general manager Andre Hills said the man had stolen the console at around 16:35, Rekord Moot reported.

Hills said the man, from Johannesburg, wrapped the console in tin foil and placed it in a KFC bag.

“When he tried to exit the shop, the security guard wanted to search him but he refused. The guards got suspicious and the man fled,” Hills said.

A chase ensued and the man ran up to the first floor and jumped to the parking area.

“He jumped over the balcony with the X-Box in his hand. He broke his left arm, and fractured his leg and knee.”

The man was then apprehended by an Orange Fox car guard.

Hills said the man confessed to stealing the console and hiding it in the bag.

“Paramedics were called to the scene and he was treated before taking to hospital. Police were also informed of the incident.”

Hills said Game management said the man was a regular criminal at the store.

Last year, CCTV footage emerged showing a would-be robber falling through the ceiling of Crossings Spar in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga.

The man is seen falling from the ceiling in front of the tobacconist kiosk in the early hours of the morning and being immediately knocked unconscious by the impact.
