Kaizer Chiefs star midfielder, George Lebese wants his teammates to quickly forget the Telkom Knockout final loss, and focus on improving their performances going forward.

Lebese said Wednesday night’s 3-1 loss was a huge disappointment that they need to quickly put behind them.

“We are obviously sad about it. We wanted to win it, but it was just not meant to be,” he said. “But that game is done now, we have to get over it and focus on what’s coming next.

“We have a big game again Saturday, that we have to win,” said Lebese referring to Chiefs’ league encounter against log leaders, Bidvest Wits set for Cape Town Stadium.

Lebese started this season like a house on fire, but form has dipped a little lately.

Asked about this, he said: “I am always working hard, and I know people will always have their own opinions about my performances. I try to improve all the time,” said Lebese who has scored five league goals.

Lebese also backed coach, Steve Komphela to guide Amakhosi to success.

“If you look at our previous coach (Stuart Baxter), we lost the first two cup competitions in the first round and he went on to win the league that same season. Steve has taken us to the finals of both competitions which is a sign of good things to come,” he said.
