“Brice Aka, Luyolo Nomandela and Sipho Ngomezulu have been very helpful to the rest of the team ahead of this match. It is a big match and most of the guys will be playing against a big team for the first time. They have been sharing their experience on how to approach such games,” said Monare.
“It was very important to the rest of the team to hear from the guys on what to expect and how we should handle the game.”
The midfielder admitted the clash with the Buccaneers will be a difficult one, with Pirates seeking to move away from the bottom half of the league table. However, they too need a good result to move out of the relegation zone. Pirates are 11th with 16 points, while Cosmos are 14th with 10 points.
“They will definitely come out with guns blazing, looking to get back to winning ways, especially after their last game with Maritzburg United. They showed character and determination to come back from a 3-1 down at half-time to 3-3 at the end of the game,” Monare said.
“But, things will be different. We all want the maximum points and as much they will come hard at us, we will do the same.”
Nomandela joined Cosmos on a loan deal from Mamelodi Sundowns earlier this month and runs until the end of the season. And Monare believes his addition is a big boost for Ezenkosi, with the team looking to secure their PSL status.
