Gcaba has made a solid partnership with Edwin Gyimah in the heart of the Buccaneers’ defence and Pirates will feel his absence.

“Ayanda Gcaba has been a stalwart in the centre of our defense and with him being suspended someone else will have to come in and do the job the job for us,” Pirates coach Eric Tinkler told the club’s website.

“Gabuza came in and scored (in the Nedbank Cup against Free State Stars), which was great for the team as well as his confidence, but he went on to concede a yellow card for a silly celebration and now he is suspended going into this important match against SuperSport,” he added.

Pirates are seventh in the league standings with 40 points, while SuperSport are ninth having collected 39 points.

The encounter between the Buccaneers and Matsatsantsa a Pitori promises to be a thrilling one, with the teams looking to finish in the top 8.
