She started in the Caxton West Rand branch in 2012 and worked under titles such as Roodepoort Rekord, Roodepoort Northsider, and Krugersdorp News. In 2016 she joined Huisgenoot. In 2019 Marizka joined the Pretoria Rekord newspaper.
At the end of 2020, she joined The Citizen. She has authored two books and was the Caxton Awards winner for 2015 and 2019.
