I’m sure you’re wondering what took us so long? Our only excuse is that chasing those news stories leaves no room for anything else.

We happily stumbled on the #Slyzatsosti hastag and all that can be said is, South Africans have moves! After watching nearly countless instagram videos, we feel like we can attempt the Slyza but that’s a story for another day.

It all started with Cassper Nyovest posting a video of himself dancing to the hit song  Slyaza Tsosti by Major League, on which he, fellow rappers Riky Rick, Okmalumkoolkat and Carpo are featured.

The dance moves are undoubtedly bringing back the pantsula dance craze, a constant on the Mzansi dance scene, which ebbs and flows in popularity. We can definitely say it is on the rise now!

We’ve seen Cassper’s and we’ve also seen the rest of the country’s dance moves. Our favourite though are the videos from the cast of Ayeye, a drama that plays on Vuzu AMP.

Ayeye does the Slyza :

Khanyi Mbau with perfect timing shows us how it’s done in heels.

Not far behind is Jessica Nkosi who throws a little sexy in it.

And the hunky SK Khoza takes over

Give this guy a round of applause, Warren Masemola does the Slyza in slow motion just to switch things up.

And watch comedian Mpho pop out of a suitcase! We see the pantsula reference there Mpho!

After seeing that, don’t you want to do the #SlyzaTsotsi too? It’s Friday, have fun with it!
