Khune is one of the most experienced shot-stoppers on Kaizer Chiefs’ books, ahead of Reyaad Pieterse and Brilliant Khuzwayo. Khune looks fit to compete with the other two goalkeepers for his place in the starting line-up.
Chiefs captain Siphiwe Tshabalala refused to divulge how much progress his predecessor has made towards full fitness.
“We have been blessed with a great goalkeeping department whoever starts will do the job for the team,” said a vague Tshabalala.
When pushed for an answer on how far along Khune is on making a return, Tshabalala refused to spill the beans.
“There is no surprise package (for the Telkom Knockout Cup final). He is training that’s all I can say, he is training very very hard.”
