This comes after United acquired a number of quality players during the transfer window.

Dean Furman was the club’s marquee signing and was dubbed the “missing piece of the puzzle” in United’s ambition for league honours.

Prior to Furman’s signing, Matsatsantsa a Pitori signed Bongani Khumalo, Grant Kekana, Michael Boxall, Isaka Cernak and Phumelele Bhengu.

Sibiya feels that he has provided Igesund with enough ammunition to challenge for the league championship.

“There is no excuse, he knows he is under pressure. When you give somebody the tools to say deliver, he mustn’t tell me the tools broke down or I couldn’t fix this because of that, so there is no excuse,” said Sibiya.
Sibiya, a former footballer himself, having played for Orlando Pirates in the 70s, understands that things don’t always go your way in football.

“If a man fails because of uncontrollable things beyond his means to attain what he was set up to attain, you understand.”
