Orlando Pirates midfielder Lehlohonolo Masalesa is set to make a return into the team after recovering from an injury he picked up at training prior to the Maritzburg United clash which they drew 3-3 last week.

“Masalesa recovered from patella tendinitis (swollen tendon connecting knee to shin),” the club said on their twitter account.

The midfielder was training with the team’s fitness doctor on Tuesday, but he eventually came on in the last half of the team’s practise match with Mozambique’s Maxaquene FC at the Rand Stadium.

Masalesa is expected to be fully fit in two days and might make the squad this weekend’s Soweto derby against Chiefs.

Meanwhile, Happy Jele is still out for about two weeks, while Siyabonga Sangweni is waiting to hear on the surgeon to hear when he will be able to make his return.

It is vital for Eric Tinkler to get most of his players up and running this week, as they face a difficult task with Chiefs at FNB Stadium on Saturday.
